About the solution
The device built by Muhammed is able to store, organize and dispense pills with a 98% accuracy. It aims to improve the quality of life of people who have to take multiple medications a day.
The idea for this solution came after the inventor’s father had an open heart surgery and a kidney transplant, among other health conditions. Because of that, he was required to take 13 medications a day. However, his father sometimes forgot to take the pills and other times they had to be thrown away because he dropped them on the floor.
“It’s just insane to even consider all the hassle that my father experiences every time he starts fumbling through his many pill boxes. It’s a nightmare, and there must be a more efficient way for patients like him to manage their pills”, he explained.
While trying to find an investor, the student connected with more than 20 medical professionals, software engineers and marketing experts who showed interested in the invention.
According to Muhammed, the device is almost ready for mass production and has a production cost of about 82 USD apiece.
“Compared to other devices in the market, this is already a killer deal for the shoppers. They’ve never seen something like it before, and they’ll truly needed it once they hear that it exists”, he said.
