Arthritis patient develops gloves that help her to stand

Shared by Rita Torrao on 2018-10-03 12:59

About the solution

Fighting cancer with chemotherapy can result in different types of secondary effects. For Jenny, this consequence was arthritis.
Suffering from arthritis in her hands, Jenny found her ability to renovate furniture with a high standard of quality was impaired, due to the pain and limited movement and agility that arthritis left her with.

“I had to find a way to overcome the pain in my hands.”, Jenny said.

Jenny then created a glove to make her job of sanding furniture less painful and more efficient. She started using a sanding glove and her friends and family encouraged her to develop the idea so that others could enjoy the benefits too.
She found a local manufacturer to develop and make the sanding glove pieces and set up her own company – Sandi Hands.

“From that point, I knew it was going to be something special!”, she said.

Sandi Hands began in 2014 and now helps 1000’s of people worldwide with a large range of abilities and disabilities with freedom of movement, ease and improved capability to produce high quality results in different areas such as furniture recycling and restoring, car detailing, surfboard shaping, home renovation, jewellery making, and crafting.
