Man develops multi-functional care bed

Shared by Shuyue Zhang on 2018-01-23 12:57

About the solution

Wei Mou has been injured on his waist at work when he was young. At the age of 57, he had a lumbar surgery at the local hospital. After the surgery, he was told by the doctor to lie flat on the bed, otherwise it would affect the healing of his wound.

After being discharged from the hospital, Wei Mou wanted to invent a bed to reduce the suffering of patients who have been bedridden. After 20 years of research and improvement, he spent nearly 5000 € from his personal savings to invent a multi-functional nursing bed.

"This bed is specifically designed for hemiparesis, lumbar surgery and long-term bedridden patients”, said Mou. The bed can float up and down, swing to help the patient turn over, and has a mini fan underneath the interval bed board to prevent decubitus. Besides, everything can be controlled by a wireless remote, which is convenient for both patients and caregivers.

Mou is constantly improving his invention. “the current one is already in the 5th generation, for which I added more features on top of the previous one. For the next generation I plan to open a space in the pillow position, and install a drain basin underneath, so that patients can wash their hair the bed.”

Mou’s multi-functional care bed has been granted patent and has been highly prised by the expert in innovation activity in his city. Mou sincerely hopes that he could collaborate with that manufacturers to bring his invention to the market, so that this bed could help more citizens.
